JERSEY, SHORT, KILT, COMPRESSION SHORT SPECIFICATIONS
The rule for field jockey jersey colors states the home team should wear a single solid white uniform top, while the visiting team should wear a solid black or dark-colored jersey top. All jerseys shall be tucked into the shorts or kilt, unless manufactured to be worn outside. Goalies shall wear a uniform top of a color or colors contrasting to the color of the uniform tops of both teams, and with a visible number on the front and back. The school’s name, nickname, logo, mascot and/or team player’s name are permitted on the uniform top and/or bottom. The lettering must be placed horizontally and the letters shall not be closer than 1 inch to any point on any number. There are no restrictions in the area of the jersey/top from an imaginary horizontal line at the base of the neckline extending to each armhole/ sleeve, up to the shoulder seam. Please note that rules and regulations vary by state and region, please check with your governing body prior to placing an order.
Players may wear full length, solid-colored warm-up pants/tights provided the knee-length socks/sock guards are visible. If worn, all players must wear the same color. Any undergarment, compression short, or tights that extends below the team uniform shall be the same color. All players on the same team who choose to wear an undershirt must wear the same color.
JERSEY NUMBERING REQUIREMENTS
Field hockey jersey numbers can be any number from 00 through 99 to be legal. A team may not use both numbers 0 and 00. Numbers shall not be duplicated. Numbers on the front shall be 3 to 6 inches in height and on the back they shall be 6 to 8 inches in height. The numbers shall be of a solid color contrasting to any surrounding colors.
JERSEY TRIM, INSERTS, SIDE PANELS
The trim shall not exceed 1 inch around the neck and arm openings and the style and design of the side insert may be of any color or design. The width of side inserts is a maximum of 4 inches (2 inches on each side of the seam).
FIELD HOCKEY SOCK REQUIREMENTS
The home team should wear a solid knee-length white socks/sock guards (not rolled down). The visiting team should wear a solid knee-length contrasting dark-colored socks/sock guards (not rolled down). Custom socks are allowed as long as they meet the color NFHS color requirements.
